The Name Sanjato was derived from the name of Guru, Sj Sanjoy Sarkar. It’s a name given to his Music School and the students had undertaken the task of carrying forward His legacy after his untimely demise. 

Sanjato was formed with an objective to bring social, cultural and literary heritage of Bengal in the forefront so that the Bengali Community residing primarily in The National Capital Region can develop an active interaction with each other and stay in touch with their roots.

Social and Cultural bindings motivate a community to be respectful of their roots and Sanjato acts as an anchor. The numerous evocative programmes staged by Sanjato inspired many to take-up and work on Tagore’s countless literary and musical ventures

Sanjato’s endeavor is also to identify, encourage the young and unsung talents in the fields of Music, Dance and Acting. By skillfully designing various cultural programmes, the talents are given opportunities and a platform to exhibit their versatility.
